Just got one as a gift, this gps does not work as it should right out of the box. It has errors, the basemap is too basic, and the "trail" option is not available, that means you cannot record your track, a essential application in a GPS. It is advertised with the NG topo maps, but they are not included and you have to buy them.
After downloading the latest firmware from magellan, the GPS works fine, the trail option is available and the basemap is much better.

Inspite of the negative feeling this motor mouth leaves, these are cool toys and/or tools.
