I had never heard of Idlewild until I went to see Placebo some years back. I ended up enjoying them so much that I bough the two cd's they had for sale as well as a shirt. Never before have I done this for an opening act. Anyone who hasn't heard of Idlewild is missing out on some of the best music around.

one of the few bands that had progression throughout their albums and although they are all idlewild they are also very different styleistically.

These guys make me so proud to be from Edinburgh. Amazing lyrics, amazing sound and such good emotion in their songs....love them :)

And have you noticed he's actually singing in his own accent now? The early albums he does what every British band growing up listening to American bands does and that's sing in an American accent coz it's all you've heard. I love the fact he's letting his Scottish accent come through now. Most noticeable on the 2nd verse of You Held the World....I think. Deffo agree tho, voice has improved with age.

He spent a lot of time in the states when he was growing up though - I think its forgivable. I dont hear it personally. I like that he sings more softly now - he's less tense, I think.

Reuben, obviously. Search their acoustic version of Scared of the Police.
