Sperm whales got their name from the original Dutch and Basque whalers. When they opened up the top part of the whale's head, called the case, it was filled with a clear/yellowish liquid that congealed into a milky white substance that resembled sperm. Thus, sperm whale.

lemme tell ya why sperm whales are such troopers...
they dive several miles into a pitch black, ice cold abyss, withstanding incomprehensible water pressure that could collapse a human's bone structure like a trash compactor, all to wrestle the ripping and tearing suction cups of a giant squid, which can grow to sizes twice that of the whale itself, or more...
